Beagles are the most common dogs in American households, and they are seen constantly in shelters as well. People do not realize that they are scent hounds and will follow prey and chase after scents. They can be difficult to housetrain. They were bred to hunt and can be very VOCAL because of it. They are family pets and are playful.There is a $15.00 donation to fill out their adoption applications. This is applicable toward the adoption fee. This prevents children and those who are not serious about adopting from taking up the time of volunteer staff by casually filling out internet applications. They have a Mid-Atlantic and a Mid-West Region.
